The most common complaint is dentures that do not fit properly. Advances in denture technology have made them fit more snuggly, but over time this problem does still arise. The problem with unsecured dentures is that while they replace the teeth, they do nothing to support the bone and tissues beneath. Over time the bone is resorbed (recedes) and the gums shrink back, meaning dentures that once fitted well become loose.
